Have you ever been judged by a group of people?
Maybe had someone evaluate you as "lower" based on something fundamental about you like race, religion, gender, lifestyle, your job, or maybe the way you dressed?
We all struggle at some level with living up to the expectations of others. It begins from the time we are born. In a society that magnifies perfection, is it any wonder that so many young people attempt the impossible task of being perfect?
The attempt to be perfect is the epitome of insanity. Perfectionism and it's unachievable and damaging to our emotional and mental health. We strive for perfection with our body, in our performance, and our relationships.
We all have flaws, fears, and make mistakes, and I think that is perfectly ok. It's our imperfections that make life interesting and they help us grow stronger, more resilient. We don't have to achieve the impossible.
" Perfectionism stays alive when you look for other people to give you worth, relying on their opinions to give you a sense of your value"
Here at 1Night Stands, we are doing our best together and separately in every form of positive kind of way we possibly can do each and almost everyday. We will not entertain the idea of trying to please everyone. Due to the fact that pleasing others is like chasing a moving target. People will have multiple hopes for you. Social pressure fluctuates--other's expectations will continue to change.
Perfectly imperfect, can we just be that?
Right from the moment of our birth, we are under the care and kindness of our guardians. Every day, now, until the end of our lives, we all are dependent on others' kindness.
Life is hard at the moment. Please be mindful of your opinion of others and be realistic with your expectations.
Thank you xx
